Review on Diono Convertible Engineering Protection Mineral by Cassie Young

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I can't think of a safer place. or another difficult to install!

The Diono Radian 3QXT seat, on the other hand, is an absolute BAC. I mean premium aircraft steel, damn heavy and incredibly strong. I have absolutely no doubts about the integrity in the event of an accident. I also have a Graco extend2fit for very infrequent rides in my grandma's car and now Graco's light weight and all plastic construction seems to be a risk for my child despite good reviews for this product. I literally feel like my son can't have a safer place than the Diono Radiant 3QXT. However, I have a 7 seater SUV and I keep it in the middle of the rear row of seats because the tilt of the seat doesn't allow me to go far enough back to drive comfortably. Take this with a grain of salt as at 5ft 10" I wear 35" inseam pants. So if you are of average height you will be fine. But now to the disadvantages. First, the installation instructions can be in Chinese. They use technical names for every detail, not just generic terminology that would be much easier to understand. Even the charts are badly numbered. At all. The most difficult car seat to install. It's definitely a two-person job, and not just because the seat is so heavy. Did I mention that the manual is basically useless? It's basically useless! In my opinion, it's worth sticking with it or paying the person who actually installs it to make a living because security really can't be overstated. However, I immediately went and checked my setup at the local police station. Also on the negative side the shoulder pads are bulky and my son hates them and often gets red marks on his neck from them. Apparently they used to make thinner and shorter seat belt pads, but if you call the company and ask about them, the customer service rep acts like the ones that currently come with the seat are the only ones the company has ever made, in fact that I have photos of the car seat. Security groups I belong to. All in all I will buy another one when I have my second child in a year or two but someone else will install it!
