These are very nice side table lamps. They look great on bedside tables in the bedroom or on 2 side tables in the living room. The metal is nicely finished and doesn't look cheap at all. The design is actually very nice. The lampshade has a Velcro seam, but simply rotates on the back after it is put together and still doesn't look bad. Lampshades require assembly. There are small hoops/latches that the ring fits into. It took my husband a minute but he got it working properly. If you have problems installing curtains, take a look at the instructions. My husband wasn't thrilled with the lampshades but one day he said they were fine. The touch function works very well. There is also a switch on the cord, make sure it is in the ON position, then the lamp itself can be controlled by simply touching anywhere. 1st touch turns it on, 2nd makes it a little brighter, 3rd makes it brightest (which is actually pretty decent for the size of the lamp), and 4th touch turns the light off. The two bulbs that come with it seem to work pretty well. There is a plug on one side of the base and a USB port on the opposite side of the base. This makes it convenient to plug things in without having to plug them into an outlet.
