LOVE IT! So easy to use

So impressed with the quality of this product! I have 0 sewing skills but I watched a video on YouTube and fixed the sofa in one try! Beautifully shaded again! so happy!

Pros

Cons

As good as a plunger needle

I was concerned that this needle might be difficult to use because it doesn't have a plunger mechanism. But it worked fine for me. The anchor fell out of the needle slightly as I pulled the needle out of the couch.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Make sure you use thick nylon thread for stronger items.

Would be a great set of pins and fasteners for something like cushions but for more durable items like sofas I would definitely pay more for a stronger pin like this like CS Osborne for 417 I found that a cheaper set of fasteners would pop out of the couch.

Pros
  • Best in Niche
Cons
  • Mostly good but...

Has done the best job of leatherworking accessories

Works as advertised. Some users have complained about the quality. I had no problem. We have a tufted couch and a button came off. Finding someone to fix it was impossible and expensive. For the cost and a DYI video, it was worth the money. It took longer to tie the slipknot than to use the tool. Worked great.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Vanishing

Ideal for replacing a broken button

This is the right tool/kit for repairing a button that has come loose from quilted furniture. The procedure is simple, but watch the YouTube video if the instructions aren't clear enough for you. The included anchors worked well for my application (sofa seat). I installed it as low as possible and was able to pull the knob just fine.

Pros
  • Build confidence
Cons
  • Quick Start Guide

Feel free to buy it!

I'm a guy with no experience in this department, but I'm tired of seeing a sofa with a button missing that wasn't repaired under warranty. I was so excited to try this after a few youtube videos making me nervous but it was so smooth it took me 3-5 minutes to finish. It took me longer to figure out how to do the slipknot to make sure it fit well. I think I even impressed my wife because she was even glad I didn't have to take the sofa apart to put it back together. If you are reading this don't

Pros
  • quality needle from Osborne.

Very sharp and inexpensive

This tool works as described and is cheaper than other snap button models. However, my furniture is designed without the straps required for rear hanging. If your furniture has metal springs and not fabric, there's nothing to push through the tool, it's very sharp. I had to disassemble the back a bit and zip tie the buttons to the metal. I was still able to use this to push through the coating and packaging to get the wax cord through where it needed to be next to the metal spring for the…

Pros
  • Thread the yarn through the round hole of the clasp, hook the square hole on the needle and push in, then pull out the needle.
Cons
  • No instructions

Not great quality Broke after one use

I bought this item to replace some missing knobs on my sofa. Loading the needle was easy and my first impression was that it would get the job done. After puncturing a spot on my couch to replace a button, I pulled the needle out again and it broke off at the tip, rendering it unusable. Upon closer inspection, the tip turned out to be nickel-plated plastic, or perhaps matte soft metal. I've seen this needle might work for small jobs, but I don't recommend it for jobs that require a lot when…

Pros
  • Nickel plated. The furniture button tacker comes with two dozen fasteners (Osborne #614).
Cons
  • High Price
