I would say it works 30% of the time. It's weird what activates it, very loud/hard barking almost never activates it. But then grumbling before/after barking is enough. It most likely has some kind of anti-bounce, such as a constant pressure/noise activator, and a powerful rapid bark gets past it. This is a frustrating experience because our dog doesn't learn to bark properly. I'm keeping it and rating it 3 stars because I think it ultimately works through stochastic punishment. A random sign can be good enough to influence behavior. But in general this is not what is expected from the product.
