Questionable design

The mount on this car mount is pretty standard - the legs can be lowered and have a slightly curved edge for extra protection against slipping, and the plastic handles are covered in thin rubber and press against each other to on the sides to hold the phone in place. The phone stand easily fits my Huawei M20P, which is a fairly large phablet. The bracket slides partially into the CD player, and pressing the tab locks everything in place. I've been using cell phone mounts for window mounting for years. This product offers several advantages over a window mount - the phone's screen is much closer to the driver's hand, which may appeal to some potential users. Also if you are having trouble with poor sound quality or interference when streaming Bluetooth from your phone, this mount can help as your phone is much closer to your car stereo. Unfortunately for me the disadvantages of this mount far outweigh the advantages. Sony car radio with Bluetooth and satellite radio. The front panel is made of plastic. After an hour of use, this phone holder has already slightly deformed the plastic lining around the CD player slot. Someone with a different model of car stereo or a lighter phone may have a better experience, but there is a very real chance that this mount will cause at least cosmetic damage to your car stereo. When using this holder, the body of my phone blocked access to the car radio controls as well as the climate controls. Since the car stereo sits fairly low on the dash, the phone's screen has to be tilted up and to the left to get a good viewing angle, but this resulted in incredible screen glare from sunlight streaming through the rear window. and i used it on a cloudy rainy day when there wasn't much sun. Glare often made it difficult to see my phone's screen. My phone was shaking as well, in stark contrast to the window mount that keeps my phone steady. The sight of the shaking phone screen made me a little dizzy. An hour with this phone holder ended up being more than enough for me.
