The texture is nice and smooth with some "grip" - but not at all sticky/tacky like other cases (which can attract and retain lint) - it is more like a velvety feel. And the kickstand (which I use to use my middle and ring fingers to 'grip' the phone while in use) opens and closes easily and you won't break a nail in the process. OK. Haven't used the clamp part of the case yet but it seems sturdy and durable. What bothers me about ALL cases designed like this (where you just pop your phone in) is that the corners are left fairly open. And I understand that if the corners of the cases keep curling around the top and bottom of the phone, you won't be able to put your phone in the case. But as many have experienced firsthand, your phone always seems to fall into a corner when dropped - so that's a minor downside. But overall I'm happy with this case.
