Part of our property sits on a steep hill leading to wilderness and lakes. I use these snake leggings when clearing vines and bushes off a hill where we have a lot of snakes including rattlesnakes and copperheads. Although I haven't encountered a snake yet, wearing these protective gear makes me feel safe. The inner straps are great for securing your legs before fastening the adjustable outer buckles. The velcro straps on the outer straps are also really helpful in preventing the excess (adjustable end of the strap) from dangling and snagging on the brush. Another great feature is the part that covers the top of your boots. While researching this purchase I saw other product reviews where a similar item didn't have a very long lifespan. However, they feel stiff enough to prevent them from falling backwards or to the side, yet flexible enough to allow your foot to move comfortably over rough terrain. Overall, they appear to be exceptionally well made and offer an excellent level of protection.
