Because of this I wasted another 45 minutes of my life

For some reason the needle didn't fit properly causing the carburetor to overflow. Strange because it seemed to close when I lifted the float. Because of this, I wasted another 45 minutes of my life. Probably none of these fakes have better quality control, but I have another brand that still works.

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Perfect replacement for my Craftsman mower

Instead of wasting time cleaning the carburetor, replacing gaskets and hoping it would help, I settled on this $13 replacement carburetor. It matched my mower's original carburetor perfectly and after a few initial jerks the mower started and now runs great. Time will tell, but early results are great.

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Requires socket

Fits like a glove carburetor and parts

Fits like a glove, mower started on first try. My old carburetor just needed a new float, but it only cost a few dollars more and I was sure any problems would be fixed. It has a plug on the side where the stock carb had a fuel adjustment screw. I would give five stars if it was fully set but I won't need it until it sticks a little. Again, for $15 I'll probably buy another one.

  • Satisfied so far

Ordered two, the first was useless.

Ordered two, the first was out of the box due to a fuel leak. The second worked without problems. The leaking carburetor had a cross-threaded main jet that I was able to fix with an M8 X 1.0 tap. Had the first carb worked I would have given five stars, now they are supposed to be 50% reliable. With the exception of the cross thread nozzle, I think they are well made. At this price I would order more.

High quality spare part!

I chose this aftermarket carburetor on my Ariens Mack ST622 trimmer rather than paying 3x more for a Tecumseh part and I'm glad I did! This cheap carbohydrate works well. I installed it, primed twice, and the trimmer coughed on the first pull and worked right after the second pull! I had about 20 hours at the time of review and it works wonders for such a cheap part. Maybe it really is that good, or I got lucky and got a good one, but at $15 vs. $45 for Tecumseh, there's room for error.

  • Quality Construction
Cons

Not equivalent to the OEM or carburetor I previously purchased.

I did not install this carburetor. The threaded hole closest to the primer ball is too small to fully tighten the air cleaner mounting screw. If I need this carb, I'll either have to drill deeper or shorten the screw. Also, the union nut on the underside of the carburetor is 13mm, not the original 1/2". Presumably this was a repeat order from a previous purchase. This is not the case as the previous purchase fitted correctly and is a 1/2" "Bowl mom had. My lawnmower ran after flushing the…

Easy to swap out and great price.

Replaced an old carburetor with this one in less than 45 minutes. Filled 5 times, pulled 2 times, refilled and pulled again, it works perfectly again. Put this on a 4hp Craftsman lawnmower that won't start without using starting fluid. The start takes 10 minutes or more. Now pull and it works. Easy to replace and at a great price. I had to reposition both fittings to fit my car. Make sure you look at the position of the linkage so it hits the correct hole. If I had looked at it before removing…

  • Everything is fine!

The float chamber valve failed, resulting in a fire.

Float valve does not work, creating a risk of fire due to fuel leaking from the carburetor. I had to open the float chamber, remove the float and adjust the float by bending the metal tab "up" to increase the pressure on the needle valve. This prevented fuel from leaking through the carburetor. In addition, the rubber seal of the float chamber expands when it comes into contact with fuel, so the seal cannot be reinserted immediately after opening the float chamber. In order to achieve a good…

Go OEM and save yourself the headache

I would avoid this carburetor for the following reason, but first. I verified that the float was free by turning the carburetor upside down and hearing the float move freely. Then I installed it on the mower and when I started it the gas gushed out of the air filter hole and the mower naturally went off. I disconnected the fuel line and removed the needle and the float bowl seat was clean and free of debris, checked the float level, everything seemed fine, reassembled. It worked again for about
