I've had this case on my XR for 9 months and just bought a new one so I can give my old one to my husband. I don't insure my phones, but I don't let them out of a Lifeproof case either. This case perfectly protects your phone from everything and everyone. I have two very young children and I live a hectic life and never have to worry about my phone breaking or getting scratched. I used to use Otterbox cases until they stopped using screen protectors as part of the case. I prefer Lifeproof. It's thinner and protects better. Every once in a while it does something weird, like the wake-up-to-wake feature freezes for a minute, or it takes a hard press to activate the button in the corner of the screen. But those inconveniences are rare and worth sacrificing in exchange for a phone you can literally throw across the room without worrying about it. I switched completely to Lifeproof.
