This driver is one of those things where you don't really need it. But do you want it? That's a whole different question. I use this for electronics, electrical work, my auto parts, basically anywhere that has plastic screws or bolts or I know I'll be removing a lot of screws. I haven't used it to actually crash into a tree for a project, but I've tested it and it actually does when you need it in a pinch. My favorite feature is the torque stop setting. You get the speed advantage without fear of breaking something from over-torque. Our house is 15 years old and a lot of the light switches were falling apart and getting hot, crappy household items. So I wanted to upgrade to off-the-shelf switches, which means about 30 switches to replace. This made it an absolute no-brainer, so much so that I just upgraded the outlets to tamper and weatherproof and some USBs. Could I do it without this driver? Yes of course. Did it save me a lot of time and nerves? Absolutely. Was it worth the price? Well, I love new instruments, and that feeling of joy when you buy new instruments is worth something, isn't it? Right?
