The advantage is that these are metal poles and you won't suffer from invisible and very painful fiberglass splinters when you handle them. However, there are two problems with these bars. The first is so obnoxious I don't know how they didn't handle it any other way. Each mast has a large sticker on one side of the reflector. The sticker is so big that it completely covers the reflector on one side. When you get it cleaned you find out it's one of those horrible stickers you can't clean. You can only scrape small pieces at a time. This is fixable but if you are already installing these bars on the pavement it is cumbersome and 5x longer to deal with the decal than just installing the bar. I used a slightly damp eraser to remove the sticker. Dirty but served it's purpose. The second problem is the lack of a way to drive the pole into the ground. Not everyone is lucky with silky soft soil. I have to drill holes as deep as possible and then drive the posts deeper into the rocky ground. I managed to use a rubber mallet but risked bending or breaking the reflector. They work but are uncomfortable.
