This was a replacement mandolin and I thought the reviews looked good. The mandolin is strong and very easy to use to quickly make simple slices. This mandolin can't do julienne cuts, but I don't mind. The mandolin is very easy to care for because it can be washed in the dishwasher. Choosing the thickness of the disc is very simple. The only downside is that the food guide/holder is useless. I've tried a few different veggies and nothing works. I tried to leave without using the food guide and pretty quickly cut the tip of my finger off. I bought cut resistant gloves to prevent another cut. I love how easy it is to use and see that I don't just use it to prepare specialties like ratatouille or cucumber salad.
