I have used laptop coolers but they are more durable and much more efficient. They have an LED indicator that tells you what position the fan is in and can be distracting, but a bit of tape will do the trick. I have no problem with the product but upon receipt the Revain box in which it was a double box was opened. A single strip of tape had been torn from either end of the box and along the long top flap. This was my second fan, the first one came without a double box at all and with a "Do not ship without a double box" sticker. So maybe it's better to do quality control upon delivery, right? Update: These fans have four speeds. I have mine on "3" where #4 is audible, #3 is relatively quiet. These fans cool the external amplifier and home theater preprocessor. I was looking for a USB connection but they connect to AC power, I need to upgrade to the "T" series for the USB connection. The "S" series can complicate things given the hardware in my setup that already requires an AC connection. Overall I'm very happy with the upgrade over the laptop coolers previously used in my setup. *Also shown S7*
