Review on 25 GILLETTE Platinum Double Edge Razor Blades - Premium Quality Blades from Russia by Victoria Brown

Revainrating 5 out of 5

"Houston, we have a problem "

I've been wet shaving since I was 17 (2005). Depending on the shade, I shave every 2-3 days for a total of 5 hours. Something is wrong with these blades, they don't cut or glide very well on my skin. They pull and pull a lot and feel VERY awkward. No scrapes or cuts on my skin. I tried 4 new blades on my Parker 111B, Parker 26C, Yintal Brass Butterfly and even my Baili BR171. There are no bones for a good, or even acceptable, shave. Swapping it out for Shark Super Chrome to get the job done every other pass is a major slap in the face to Gillette's quality control. Lather from a can or Arko shaving soap that comes in a plastic container. Currently I'm spinning Bic Chrome Platinum, Astra SP, Shark Super Chrome and (rarely) Durablade Sharp Titanium (by Bangla-friggin-desh). which actually gives me a velvety close shave in just one pass). I have used all of these blades in combination with my various safety handles, soaps and preps which seldom ever caused problems, in fact it could only contribute to any problem due to simple operator error (meaning I screwed up). But seriously, a shark. Super Chrome to finish Gillette's work? Do yourself a favor, buy yourself something else. Value for money: Gillette (with the exception of Astra) is a rip-off. For what they are charging, Gillette should seriously start upgrading/upgrading the grinding/sharpening equipment at this plant. Comfort: My cats scratching my leg are less annoying than these Gillette Platinum scratching my face. Durability: I've tried 4 new blades in 4 safety razors I own. Try to be honest and impartial for almost 2 weeks. Every time after the first pass I gave them DNF (didn't finish it) every time and they went straight to the coffee pot. I couldn't in my right mind give my health and my skin a second look.
