I'm someone who "don't normally write reviews" but I love this column so much I really wanted to share it. Sounds good! With the C10, everything just sounds full and full. The bass is deep but not overwhelming. High frequencies are clear. The balance is right from the highs to the lows. However, if you need customization, you can do so in the app. There's also a subwoofer input on the back, but I can't imagine it's needed as it gets LOUD. It easily fills my entire living room and doesn't distort the sound at all. Take a look: this is definitely a very minimalist speaker that I like. I have received several compliments and questions about who is doing this. The gray color is great but looking at the photos of the black version I'm sure it looks just as nice. On the top there are quite a few buttons for power, input, volume, etc. All of them have a nice feel and aren't cheap at all. Connectivity: You have to use the AP app to set it up, which was pretty easy. It connects to your wireless network, which I think works great. There are RCA/line-in connections for turntables (although you'll still need a preamp for that) and an aux/3.5mm jack, Bluetooth and Airplay. I hooked up an Amazon Point via Aux and had no problems. The app lets you connect to Spotify (just takes you to the Spotify app to use the connection), your phone library, Apple Music (takes you back to the Music app on your iPhone), and a few other services. Pandora is missing, which isn't available overseas which is why it's not listed, although you can play it easily through a connected Echo. Airplay is also supported, so you can stream/play pretty much anything locally from any WiFi-connected Apple device. Airplay audio is lossless and just ruins Bluetooth, making everything sound flat and muddy. The only thing I don't like is that the device goes into sleep mode after about 20 minutes of inactivity. This means that "always on" devices like the Echo Dot will stop responding (when connected via Aux like mine) when the device goes to sleep, so you can wake it up by pressing the power button or opening an app have to wake up. It's a little frustrating, but not a deal breaker. At first I thought mine might be defective, but AP customer service was quick to answer my question and advise me that standby mode is required for all foreign-made devices in order to comply with EU electricity regulations. I can ignore it, because otherwise the device sounds and looks great. I've used a Fluance fi50 before and the C10 has a much better fuller sound and transmission rounds out the package. As someone who has used multiple speakers before, this is my top pick at the moment.
