looks like it was factory installed or at least it fits my mower. I am happy with it and less afraid of my mowing blade detaching and flying over the yard while mowing. After replacing a blade on a lawnmower, I noticed that the bumps on the adapter were shearing off because the blade hit something hard. I didn't feel safe afterwards with the thought that it might come loose or slip or something. If I hit something it could transfer that energy straight into the motor and kill my lawn mower. I thought about drilling the part and adding cut screws to replace the grommets but I looked on Amazon and found this part very cheap and settled on the part it was meant to be. I don't want to mess with the safety, balance and original design of something like this. I am very happy with this part.
