I bought this to fix a laptop that had a problem with the headphone jack (only one ear worked). This solved the problem. I bought this particular model because I like having a few inches of cord so you don't have a huge plug coming straight out of the USB port. I also tried this on another computer where the motherboard always thought the front headphone jack was plugged in. This also solved this problem. Overall I am very happy with this product, the only problem is I tried to order another one and it was out of stock.
