Review on StoreYourBoard 2 Kayak Ceiling Storage Rack, Adjustable Mount, Holds 2 Kayaks Or Canoes, Overhead Garage Hanger by Mike Cox

This is a nice kayak rack that works perfectly in our garage. Easily handles our two 11' kayaks (104 lbs combined) and gives us plenty of floor space that had previously been occupied by the kayaks. I really like the design that allows flexibility in the direction of the rack and the length from the ceiling. The rack is pretty sturdy, but I can see where it might be more difficult to install it into the truss if there was drywall to work around. Sure, a good stud finder should get you pretty close to the center of the truss boards - but most are only about 1.5" wide, so one could easily be a little off and that could make a difference. Our ceiling is open, so I had easy access to the truss. I agree with those who feel the supplied 1/4" x 2.5" lag screws are cheap, and I replaced those screws with 1/4" stainless steel machine screws, fender washers, and nylon lock nuts (drilling completely through the truss to install the screws) to ensure I wouldn't have a similar situation as others who reportedly found their rack and kayak(s) on the floor. This was not a problem with no drywall to go through, but would have been more difficult without easy access to the mounting boards. Not sure why the width of the base of the rack is 2", when the width of the board is only about 1.5". It's not really an issue, but does mean there will be a small amount of the base sticking out from the truss after installation. Anyway, I am very happy with the installed rack and would recommend it, with caveats noted. Would have given the rack a 5-star rating if not for the cheap Chinese lag screws.
