I couldn't find anything in the instructions about the strange plug at the end of the power cord. I didn't see the plug adapter for the power cord when I opened the box, and it wasn't until I looked for product information to make it easier to return the USB hub that I noticed that there was an adapter for a fancy plug that was compatible with one is normal outlet. . I got a self-powered hub to compensate for the computer's seemingly excessive current draw from my printer, but this seemed to be solved by switching to a shorter USB cable while waiting for my USB hub to arrive. So far I haven't received a repeat USB DEVICE NOT DETECTED message, so I'm hoping this is due to connecting to my new device. I love the fact that I have plenty of ports to plug other things into as I accumulate and not have to worry about draining power.
