I have used several different mounts on my car. Magnetic mounts have always been my favorites as they are the easiest to use, take up very little space and keep the phone secure. My previous magnetic mount was the vented one. Although he was very good at holding the phone and studying, he also blocked the ventilation and the phone got hot in winter. This was fine in the warmer months as the air conditioning kept the phone cool, but the heat does damage the battery and internal electrical components. Unfortunately, my iPhone 11 Pro Max weighs more than my old phone, so the vent mount can't support the phone. He kept sliding down until he finally fell. The OQTIQ mount has more magnets, fits in my unused CD bay, and is about 1.5-2.0 inches from my air vent. It's a little further than I'd like, but it also makes it easier to access my phone if I need to take a call or enter navigation while stopped. If a large phone is mounted on a protruding mount, it will bounce around a bit when driving, which I hated when I had windshield-mounted phone holders. My iPhone 11 Pro rocks a bit when moving, but the phone stays in the holder! As this is a heavy phone I was worried it would slide down but it stays in place! The question I asked myself when looking for a magnetic mount was if it would be strong enough to hold the phone when the metal plate is inserted into the case after being glued from the outside. distracts from the appearance of the case. I'm currently switching between the two cases and happy to report that the metal plate phone stays in the case. Holds up even when the case is made of liquid silicone which has a smoother feel like Apple's silicone case. I also have a magnetic ring phone holder on the back of one of my cases. I knew it would work but didn't know if it would slide down given the smaller mounting surface, but it doesn't. Pros: - Holds iPhone 11 Pro Max securely, even with case on [Mag Plate in Case] - High quality materials - Easy installation in CD slot - Keeps phone closer to you and away from air vents - Easy setup - Relatively stable [ Phone bounces a little as it is mounted away from the base] - Lifetime Warranty [The manual inside lists a lifetime warranty which most don't offer!] Cons: - Protrudes from the dashboard a little more than I would like - Phone shakes a bit when driving because the magnetic base is not close to the mounting part. I'd recommend buying this as long as your CD player's slot is big enough for the "fins" to fall in. It holds heavy phones like the iPhone 11 Pro Max well, although it does bounce around a bit while driving. Plus, the lifetime warranty is a nice bonus should the ribs holding it in the CD player slot ever break.
