Review on πŸ”§ Precision at Its Finest: Palmgren MVS40 4 Inch Milling Machine by Brandon Show

Looking for better and more expensive vices?

Keep searching, it's not.1. When I placed it on my router table without the swivel base, the screw slots in the vise prevented me from orienting the vise at a 90 degree angle to the table slots. I carved slots for the vise so I could secure it with screws. It got worse from there.2. When the vise is bolted to the horizontal table, the vise bed is inclined in both the X and Y directions.3. As the workpiece was clamped in the vise, the movable jaw was raised approximately 0.020 inch each time the vise was tightened to hold the workpiece, thereby tipping the workpiece along the Y.4 axis. The only thing this Chinese vise is good at is aligning the jaws when the vise is tightly closed. And the "hardened” sponges cut very easily with an ordinary hand file. Unfortunately, I don't work very much with tightly locked vices. The reason this isn't a verified purchase is because Revain didn't have it in stock. and there is no availability date so i bought it from another seller. Ed B
