Although this hammer is made of stainless steel, it is NOT a solid stainless steel head, it is a stamped three piece stainless steel head weighted with something that rumbles inside. The problem with this design is that there are gaps in the hammer head for meat/liquids to enter which can pose a hygiene hazard. Bad design in my opinion. After further research, it turned out that Cave Tools is rebranding a cheap, mass-produced product and putting a silicone sleeve on the handle. Disappointing. I wouldn't buy this product if I paid more attention to the design.
