Good quality reverse osmosis pump but the vibration is gone

This pump is too overloaded to increase the inlet pressure in my iSpring 5-Stage Reverse Osmosis Filter. It's built like a tank and I'm sure it will last for many years. This increases the pressure on my filter from the 40psi limit coming off my well to a more reasonable 80psi. This reduces the time it takes to refill the reservoir when using water and also improves filtration efficiency (less waste water per gallon of filtered water). A pressure switch shuts off the pump precisely when the storage tank is filled to 40psi. You read that right. As the inlet pressure rises to about 80psi, it shuts off when the storage tank reaches 40psi. That's the correct behavior. I fixed the pump firmly to the wall in the kitchen cabinet. Although the pump is fairly quiet (a faint hum) when running, it creates healthy vibrations in the wall cabinet that seem to travel a fair distance through my house. This is true even though the mounting holes in the pump frame have large rubber grommets to dampen vibration. If the pump runs through several rooms, I can tell by the low-frequency hum. It's not very loud, but if you're sensitive to that kind of noise, it can be annoying. Pump pressure and switching pressure can be adjusted, but this is not recommended as the preset values were correct when delivered. A great addition to your filtration system if your inlet pressure is below about 45psi.

Pros
  • Auto on/off. The pressure switch senses the pressure in the outlet line so when the outlet line closes or the storage tank is full or reaches 40-50psi the pump will turn off and then when you start using water and the pressure in the tank will drop. , then the pump is turned on again to fill the tank.
Cons
  • Big and Bulky
