Some manual flight settings disable Autel's excellent EVO II obstacle avoidance system. When flying with obstacle avoidance disabled or with significantly reduced power, they provide some protection in your EVO II airframe and help prevent in-flight damage to the propellers that could result in a disaster. I don't know how much force they can take, but they seem to be able to withstand minor impacts, which is all I'm worried about.
