It was fun to install. I have never made a door knob but my friend who is very skilled and capable has made dozens of them. We, as well as the other reviewers, were completely taken aback by the lack of the "rose" part on the handle. The instructions don't mention that you have to use a small black wire wrench to push the hole in the base of the handle to free it so you can put the rose on. I have no idea why it isn't already on the handle. It took me a long time to search YouTube and Google before I found a video from a completely different manufacturer showing this part of the installation. And you have to make sure that the handle is oriented in the right up/down direction because if you put it the wrong way it will slip off immediately and you have to take it off the door and turn it over again. The problem with this handle is that there are no visible screws on the rosette. So if you ever want to remove it or replace the handle, be sure to save this little black wire wrench so you can take the damn thing apart again. I'm not sure I'd recommend this due to the added complexity and the fact that you have to save the little black key to eventually remove the handle. I wanted something simple and modern looking and it really fits for that. I almost sent the damn thing back without completing the install. But we have it, and so far so good.
