Bought this item to replace a Sony personal CD player that was discontinued by the manufacturer and accidentally dropped while playing . NO sound quality comparison between Sony and this thing. Sounds CHEAP. even with an expensive pair of headphones AND headphones. Looks like a VERY cheap amp was used. Also, this thing is TWICE thicker than my other personal CD players, and to top it off, this thing is made out of very cheap flimsy looking plastic. I've had a Sony for over 10 years and have dropped it several times in the years before. ultimately failed. This Jensen will NOT last that long. I wish I had bought a used Sony instead of this thing.
