First. I bought a Harbor Freight crimping tool (one of the cheapest they sell) and it was complete junk, barely working. The crimper works MUCH better with this set and is very durable. The connections are great. I never used anything like this until I converted the boat and didn't have to do any wiring. Some points didn't really require marine grade connectors so I used those as well as soldered connectors. Both have their own purpose, but they were very easy to use. They crimp tightly and the heat shrink tubing is quite thick, it doesn't look like you'll melt it as you shrink the tubing - they can handle a lot of heat. I'll definitely keep them at home. From that moment I could imagine using such connectors in other home plumbing projects, and not just the screw caps I'm used to.
