I rent and can't run cables through the walls or baseboards. You need a wire that can be easily attached to the wall without ugly brackets. Also my walls are the same color as the wire. The inner bar is actually perfect for nailing to the wall. Because of the "flexibility" of the wire, it actually sits on the floor when you do it that way, and nailed tight enough, it hugs the wall nicely when nailed. Twisting sideways is kind of a trick -- it helps separate three pieces an inch or two as you twist. Overall I like this wire. Wouldn't use it for all purposes, but it can also do things that other wires don't (e.g. lay flat on the ground and don't get tangled).
