Definitely some sturdy materials if you have more demanding applications

I ordered this to print a "TinyG" CNC control board case using files downloaded from Thingiverse. It's well printed; There was a small stain in one spot but this could have been caused by insufficient support as another part of the print was distorted from not being fully supported either. But overall it looks good. This particular case contains a series of 1/8 inch sized holes in a 10x10 grid, all of which look perfectly round. Given that the layers were parallel to the axis of the holes, this impresses me. And even when I separated the supports I noticed that it was stronger than the regular resins I used. One part of the case, the lid, is about 6" square and about 1/8" thick, with a 2" protrusion. or so a hole in the center for a fan. After I cured the piece, tried I twisted and bent it. It was very difficult to bend it, but even when bent, it just bent and returned to its original shape. I'm pretty sure the same piece of regular resin as glass would shatter if I did that. So yes I'm very impressed with the material. The only downside is that I'm used to working with water leachable resins and this forced me to resort to good ol' denatured alcohol, which stinks quite badly and isn't comfortable to breathe either. I probably wouldn't use an "ABS-like" resin in a situation where extra strength isn't needed, both because of the requirement to use alcohol and because of the higher price, from if you do, i would say that this is a good choice.

Pros
  • Low Viscosity and Low Odor: With high quality, low odor and low viscosity, it is easy to clean and offers better printing quality.
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for elderly
