Review on πŸŒ€ BLACK+DECKER BCF5252 Ceiling Fan: Sleek Silver Design & Optimal Performance by Zach Sornsin

Nice modern fan

I've been trying to upgrade my old ceiling fan for about a year. I really like the newer fans in a more modern style and was surprised to see that Black and Decker had such a nice fan. The colors match our bedroom and I especially love the gray and silver fan blades. However, the paddle blades are really light, almost like cork wood, and the paint scratches very easily. In fact, during installation, four blades were scratched near where they enter the case. Only one of them is visible, the rest are scratches inside the case, so be careful when installing the blades. The case is made of clear glass. Looking at the pictures you might think it's plastic. I installed some remote controlled RGB LEDs and the brightness is pretty good. Installing the fan was pretty easy. I've installed at least half a dozen of these over the years, and I know the hardest part is finding someone or someone to help hold the case to the ceiling while you connect the wires. This particular fan is quite heavy, so be prepared to call for help. Overall this is a good ceiling fan, but the blades require a little more thought as they are fairly easy to damage. There is a slight wobble when the fan is running at high speed, but on the second stage it exhausts a lot more air than my old fan. It also oscillates when you press any of the switches.
