I was looking for a compact, mid-range lens that I could take anywhere. I mainly photograph architecture and landscapes. In addition, the lens blurs the edges noticeably - leaves, for example, look "crushed". I didn't have high hopes for absolute sharpness, but was surprised by the switch from the center to the edges. If you (like me) are considering the Fuji X-mount system for the first time, after trying a few lenses and reading a lot of reviews, I think it can be said that the Fuji is best suited for other purposes. For example portrait or street photography where soft edges are less noticeable or even desirable.
