Good cooler but not particularly portable or quiet

This portable cooling pad seems to cool my laptop pretty well, but it's just as big and bulky as the one I've replaced (which doesn't claim to be portable be). ). The angle at which the laptop is held appears quite steep. There are nice rubber pads on the surface to keep it from slipping, but if they ever fail I think my computer will slide off the table. However, I would give this at least four stars except that it is too loud. In the quietest conditions, I can still hear it humming very nicely in my office, and when I crank up the fan speed it's quite noticeable. Worst of all, it suffers from the same problem as my previous tablet: any pressure on the laptop (sometimes even just a finger on a button) deforms the bezel enough for the fan to hit it, making it a lot noisier. This is probably worth the money, but not suitable for my purposes. Overall I think the cooler could be more compact on the main axes and either be a bit thicker or use slightly thinner fans to reduce the warping issue.

Pros
  • Quick change
Cons
  • Something different
