Can't comment on the durability of this product yet, but it works quite well. I've been using my laptop primarily as a desktop for a while (so I don't use it on my lap) and I've had to throttle it to keep the fan from going into jet mode. With this thing I turned off the throttling. This keeps the idle temperature about 8 degrees cooler and makes it harder for the CPU to get hot enough to fully overclock the fan.
