Review on πŸ”Œ Dorman 748-518 Power Window Motor and Regulator Assembly - Front Driver Side for Chevrolet, Pontiac, and Suzuki Models by Lequon Kaneshiro

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Okay, but with one caveat.

I installed a Dorman 748-518 power window in the front driver's door of a 2006 Chevy Equinox. I managed to complete the install and get a working window and in the end, reading this is what you need. There was an issue with a part that I was able to overcome, but that's why I wanted to check it out. Thing is, I'm an experienced mechanic and I understand that's not the case for everyone ie. H. The issues I had with this power window were not a determining factor for me, but if you need a fork and gaming experience then this part may not be for you. A particular problem I had with the 748-518 was that the swivel nut to attach the inside door opener lever was missing. A blank for the mother was provided but not completed. It may have had a defective part but comparing some of the specs of the Dorman part to the original made me think the aftermarket unit was too "universal" if you know what I mean. With some effort I managed to unscrew the union nut from the old block and attach the screw holding the door handle to the new block. The lever has two bolts holding it in place and a self-tapping screw. There wasn't a good option for attaching the sheet metal screw so I didn't use it as I was comfortable with two screws in place. Overall I was able to get the job done and confident of the result I paid for, but I was only aware of my experience and made an informed decision.

Pros
  • A reliable replacement - designed and tested to match the fit, function and performance of the original power window on specific vehicles
Cons
  • Miscellaneous Miscellaneous
