I bought this Samsung unit from Revain as a monitor. While the device is beautiful, it fits like a TV, not a monitor. This is a great TV because: 1. The P2770HD has an attractive, wide, sleek bezel. It is difficult to judge the quality of the finish from photos; when I bought the unit, Revain showed the P2770HD with the wrong photo; The correct photo is shown at the time of writing this review.2. The P2770HD offers a wide range of input and output signals, making it very flexible as a destination for video signals.3. Build and packaging quality is excellent, although the user manual and on-screen display (OSD) design and content are clunky and poorly translated. "Tech Junkie" influenced my decision. Contrary to what Tech Junkie claims, the P2770HD is a bad monitor because: 1. In order to even enjoy decent text display, you have to hack the OSD settings. The monitor showed serious crosstalk with the HDMI input from my Gateway i3 desktop with Intel graphics. Tech Junkie explained that assigning "PC" as the video source "Name" on a Samsung device would help solve these problems. While this hack improved text quality, it clearly reveals a serious flaw in Samsung's design that hints at other flaws. The frame is *very* wide. An attractive bezel is appropriate for a wall-mounted or wall-mounted television, but not for a free-standing monitor where a minimal bezel width is ideal.3. The ports on the back face outwards, which makes sense because there are so many of them. This is normal with a TV on the wall and the cable rail is not visible but looks ugly on a freestanding monitor. (I'm comparing my current ASUS monitor, which has cables protruding vertically into protruding connectors that aren't visible from the back.) 4. The device displays a large "No Signal" banner when my PC doesn't have an HDMI output. I was expecting the screen to go blank and the monitor to go into sleep mode. It is not so. Due to these design flaws/compromises, this Samsung device is not suitable as a PC monitor. If I want a 27 inch TV this would probably be a good choice. Since I don't need the TV, I sent it back today. I'm disappointed that Samsung, which usually delivers excellent quality products, tried to sell the P2770HD as a monitor. Revain should have documented the device more thoroughly with accurate photos and descriptions. I'm sorry I wasted my time and your money.
