Before ordering, I removed the tape measure to see if the height adjustment met my needs. In its lowest position, it's 2 inches higher than my current office chair and I can't put my feet completely on the floor, but the metal footrest is perfect for that height. So i really love it. i 5-8. In its highest position, it makes an excellent high stool for a drawing table or desk. The raising and lowering mechanism works great, at least for now. If you search, there are small clues to its cheapness. For example the mysterious unused holes, I am assuming this is a mass produced part used in different types of chairs. See photo. And there were flaws in the paintwork, which are visible upon closer inspection. Looks like my chair has a scratch about 2 inches in size which they touched up. But for me that's absolutely no problem, the chair looks great and works well so far. I love that the armrests can be folded down in case I want to pull the chair straight to the table. I miss the fact that they are height adjustable like my 4x more expensive office chair. They're a little low for my elbows, but I'll adjust. I can tilt them a bit and as long as I'm not leaning heavily on them they are supported without folding all the way to a horizontal low position. I unpacked it yesterday and it still has that overwhelming strong plastic smell. No doubt it will go away and not kill any of us in that time.
