I have had this system since 04/24/2019 and am delighted. I researched extremely extensively (over several months because I have far more time than money) before finally purchasing this security system. Installing the hard drive only took about 20 minutes (alone) and was definitely worth the extra savings. Now their 960P system with an included 1TB hard drive was very tempting for the same price, but the downside of the 960P is that 1080P gives you an excellent picture (especially with subjects that aren't close) and can do quite a bit. Difference when using the digital zoom function. It only took me $50 to buy and install my own 2TB hard drive, which gave me double the recording time. Also, the 1080P cameras are $20 more each when purchased separately, which adds up to $160 (8 x 20), which is more than worth it for the hard drive I added. This system compares in overall quality to many systems that are much more expensive and the customer service from this company is second to none (another reason I chose this system over others) while most companies (that make security systems) have their service customers largely absent. A small disadvantage is that this support service works in foreign time (you have to call late at night) and not in our time. The second, larger one is the user manual that comes with the system and only covers the basic functions, so I had to call their toll free customer service number or post a question on the Revain website (which always comes with an answer, and always the next day from the seller) or just read all the many Revain reviews for these Safevant security systems. Had it come with a thorough instruction manual I would have given this system a super solid 5 star rating, but then I'm more than certain we'd be paying around $150 or more for the same system (compared to others). Finally, I would like to say that no one gave me anything to write this review. I just think it's fair sometimes to praise a company (when it really deserves it) when they do an excellent job overall (and I write complaints about bad companies too) because companies give you a really good product (on today's market) at a reasonable price ... the price disappears quickly (very sadly) in the past. Too many companies "today" "deliberately" produce crappy products just to maximize the CEO's outrageous salary along with shareholder profits! Now tell me it's not true!
