Suitable for all-day cooking, but not for cooking

This is an induction heater for buffets. The device measures approximately 14 x 17 x 4 inches. It has a glass induction surface. The front panel controls allow you to choose between temperature and power settings or use a timer. The LED display shows the current settings. The unit operates on 120V and is equipped with a 52 inch industrial power cord that terminates in a standard North American 3-prong plug. An instruction booklet with particularly amusing attempts at English is included. I love the solid look of this machine, but cooking with it is another story. I received this unit to use as a second induction burner alongside a Nutrichef model I bought a few years ago. I like my Nutrichef cooker because it cooks much faster and is more responsive than my gas stove and doesn't pollute the kitchen air. I figured since this valgus model is larger and advertised for commercial kitchens this would be an improvement. I tried cooking on valgus for three days but finally gave up because it was so slow. I even did a speed test by boiling 2 cups of water in matching 4.75 inch stainless steel pans. Water boiled in my gas stove in 3 minutes 42 seconds and in the Nutrichef at 1500 watts in just 2 minutes 9 seconds. On the other hand, Valgus couldn't handle such a small pot, so I had to switch to a wider pot (6 inch diameter). It heated water to 200Β°F at 1500W in about 12 minutes, but after 21 minutes the water still wasn't boiling and I gave up. According to the manual, Valgus offers temperature settings up to 464F and power settings up to 3500W. However, on the LED screen, the power settings only reach 1800W. Trying to understand why the Valgus just won't heat up to readiness, I tried reading the instructions, but came across suggestions like "on the buttons" -" "+". When heated to a constant temperature temperature, the electromagnetic road enters the state of thermal insulation, heat preservation temperature to adjust the temperature. Hmmm ... I think the device could be rated for 240V and only has a 120v sticker on the side and that it just doesn't get the power it needs to cook from a 120v outlet It certainly takes up the main spot on the counter Generally this unit is fine best for keeping warm on a steamer table (placed in round steel containers), but not at all for cooking.
