Install the sealed fuel cap on your Tundra - there was a TSB on it - but your truck and/or previous owner may not have done so. I struggled with a sealed gas cap. Closes very tightly, but does not seal. If you can crank it, it gets light and then tightens and seals. Most of the time my wife or I would stop on the first puff. But then the emission control system will encode. Replacing this part with a new genuine product wasn't too difficult and I wish I had done it much sooner. Make sure the tank is not overfilled. It doesn't need to be vented - you just don't want the gas getting into any part of the inflation system. 1) Remove the plastic cap/trim from the fuel cap filler area. Now go under. If it's really awful, lower the hose a bit and let it dry. 2) Loosen both bleed and fill hose clamps and twist hoses vigorously (with a gloved hand) to loosen if stuck. .3) Loosen and remove hanger bolt. At this point it should be free. Otherwise you will have more room to twist and loosen stuck hoses. Rotate this in reverse order to reinstall the new part. I would suggest waiting until you have tightened the hose clamps and installed the plastic cover before fully tightening the hangar bolt. All of this will help index this part. Then check and tighten the hanger bolt and also check and tighten the hose clamp.
