I recently used my resort's free hotspot for my computers, so I had to work really hard to find good adapters. Of the several I bought, this one was the least efficient, averaging 6-10Mbps. And it's a faster N-type adapter. My other Zonet, Alpha, and Netgears (N and G) offer speeds from 50Mbps to 130Mbps with lightning-fast response and excellent signal retention. (I'm about 60 feet from the signal antenna). The required driver installation didn't matter on Windows and my 4 Linux OS's already had the necessary drivers pre-installed. So I can't figure out the reason for the poor performance I'm getting with it. Getting lucky I guess.
