It's been ten years since I found a window candle holder that stays in place and allows for a wide base. The base of this holder is square but perfectly holds an oblong base. The top part holds the candle securely in place. Together they make the holder stable and reliable. You don't have to sit on the windowsill. I found it ideal to place the candle higher up in the window where the dog likes to poke its nose. If the string is pulled taut to get to the outlet, other holders will lose suction or the candle will turn sideways and eventually fall off. But not this one. I've bought more and replaced all the useless others I've tried. I hope they last for decades like my previous favorites.
