Review on Vacuum Hand Sanding Block Multi by Jon Higdem

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Why have I waited so long?

Works very well. Easy to use, good size, keeps dust to a minimum and the velcro paper is great. Drywall sanding still sucks, but a lot cleaner now. I saw someone use one of those clunky looking and poorly controlled vacuum sanding blocks and thought it was a great concept but just a crappy execution. Too big and wobbly when sanding. Then I discovered such blocks! Low profile and you can grab right by the base. A premium setup cost around $200 and was a little hard to swallow at that price point. I figured the block was nothing more than a piece of plastic with holes and a vacuum port so I could save on costs. This item was a good choice. Very cost effective and nothing to complain about. The vacuum ports seem adequate, the Velcro surface looks good, and the hose nipple rotates freely for easy movement. It just does its job well and feels like it's built to last. I bought a roll of Mirka 9A-570-120 Abranet 2-3/4" x 10yd Mesh Grip 120 grit and it was a great choice. Fits this block perfectly and works very well. Highly recommended. Don't try too save money on cheap sandpaper Needs hard tubing, tubing too big, tubing too heavy or tubing that ruptures after a month Mirka tubing is suggested in this unit It seems to meet the criteria but manufacturing will Took weeks found Festool Hose 495019 Oh oh everything Festool is German and expensive but top quality This hose was ridiculously expensive at around $72 but will arrive in a few days I'm glad I bit the bullet and the threw in an extra $30 for the Festool hose And it pairs perfectly with block hose nipples: very tight push fit and the fitting allows for swivel/rotation It's about 16ft long, very flexible, very light and the big end is perfect for my jess thin vacuum cleaner. Highly recommended for the Zeta block. You may regret the money spent, but after using it, you won't. I ended up spending about $135 for everything including 10 yards of sandpaper. I could probably save up to $100 with a cheaper hose, but I have a feeling I would buy this Festool hose and probably would buy it later. Overall I'm happy with this setup. One last very important note, if you're using that vacuum block or similar, or just picking up drywall dust, get fine dust bags for your industrial vacuum or you're just going to explode. dust everywhere. Also wear a dust mask. Protect your lungs. Have fun grinding!
