There's a reason they're so cheap. The German pens themselves are very beautiful. However: the hardware leaves a lot to be desired: - don't over tighten or you'll break the gold base parts and once they break it's VERY difficult to get them back to their original shape - some of the washers/threads on some of the bolts weren't tight so I had to go to the local hardware store and buy more washers. - The pucks on the ends are VERY easy to bend and can scratch you as you walk past and actually draw blood as shown in my photo. I plan to go back to the hardware store and buy shims for the outside that don't have jagged edges.
