Review on HP Sprocket Portable Photo Printer for Better Camera & Photo Printing by Dana Mahendra

Everything is too blue!

This is a really nice printer - it's easy to set up, easy to connect to your phone, prints fast and is inexpensive. The only problem I have is that EVERYTHING prints too blue and undersaturated. The skin tones look like those of a corpse - fine if you're a zombie family, but not so much if your kid has cute rosy cheeks. This is a brand new printer using the paper that came with it and I followed HP's troubleshooting instructions. Google it - it's a fairly well-known issue. You can fix this with filters, but if you want to use it for a photo booth (a handy feature), just watch out for everyone looking ashen. This is not the first time that I encounter this problem with HP printers and that is why I try to stay away from them. I worked in a photo lab making thousands of prints a year and my husband works in the printing industry. I can't believe this is a drop in quality. HP is embarrassed and you should fix this issue. People take pictures of people. Learn how to reproduce skin tone. Even if you're looking for cheap, quick, average-quality photos, this isn't a bad little car. If they did an update to fix the color balance issues I would recommend it to everyone I know because it's fun to use. Average quality pictures, the machine is not bad.
