Additional purchases required for year-round outdoor use. Waterproof - ok, that's for the LED strips themselves. 5ft max cable, encoder, controller no? The power converter is clearly marked as 'Indoor use only' so discard any possible plans to connect it to external outlets. Is there a need for a waterproof outer case big enough to fit in the converter box AND will the controller be waterproof? Don't think I'll take the risk. So to take advantage of waterproof LEDs, you need a power supply and a waterproof case installed no more than 10 inches from where you want to start the cable. So this was intended for my back deck railing and no outside outlet would help - an extension to something like SOCKiTBOX is installed as I proceed BUT it ruins a lot of the value these LED strips offer. I wouldn't say anything is advertised falsely, but an indoor-only power supply and maybe a controller is awkward for a product with "waterproof" as the first word in the description. 10ft waterproof cable to advertised waterproof controller would be nice.
