I am using the 3.3ft version of this cable with my 2017 12" MacBook and the Satechi adapter which is powered by my original Apple USB-C charging cable . As always, it all depends on your specific device configuration. I was pleasantly surprised that everything is fully functional, at least for me. 4K video works well through my Samsung monitor's HDMI port and I can also see and use USB devices as well as the Ethernet port. This cable length is amazing as it allows me to use the Satechi adapter as a docking station. on my Vari table, but carefully hide the messy piece of wiring. In addition, the fabric that covers the cable fits stylishly into the modern office in terms of color and style.
