is large, but to be expected with such a volume. I actually measured 32 ounces and it was almost to the top so 33 ounces would be touching the lid. The seal is pretty good, I put it upside down for a while, shook it a few times and it doesn't leak. I put some water in the microwave and then poured it into this bottle, it didn't crack. Of course, I'm not going to pour ice water in it right after (someone else can do that). It came with a cheap bottle brush and carrying case, no big deal as I prefer the silicone case. After some research, the 40 ounce hydro flask came close to the size, so I bought a silicone case made for it (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0716F36RZ) to protect it from cuts, scrapes and small drops . (see image). Obviously it doesn't protect him from a deep fall. it fits snugly and doesn't slip off easily. so far I can't find a replacement 3 1/8" lid, maybe with a spout and/or straw.
