This "TZe ribbon printer only" appears to be mechanically sound. It's fast and automatically cuts 25mm of waste tape for each label. However, the Mac version of P-Touch Editor (I'm using V.5.1.108, latest version as of today 6-2017) really sucks. It's the "clunkiest" Mac software I've ever seen and wouldn't be on my computer unless it's the "only game in town" if you want to print labels with this printer. The P-Touch Editor for Mac is totally illogical, some features just don't work as you expect or don't work at all. With patience, you can usually find a workaround to create a label that matches what you really want, but only after a lot of fiddling. It's annoying to do something extremely simple like change the font and close the font window every time you choose a new font. There are dozens of other poorly designed "features" in P-Touch Editor. It's such a shame that Brother didn't bother to invest in developing software that would make this printer fun to use. If so, I'M SURE they'll be selling a lot more P-Touch Tape, which is a really profitable part of this line of products.
