Many of the petticoats I looked at we're more affordable but just looked very. triangle-y. This petticoat is *amazing*. It's breathable, comfortable, and not itchy. My 5 year old loves how it makes her puffy dresses look. I will say that it seems to run kind of big, as we ordered a size down yet the Velcro closure part leaves it hanging low on her hips; however, the string ensures we're still able to place it where it needs to be snugly. Absolutely well worth it, and it will be used until she outgrows it.
