Review on BEHRINGER UM2 Audio Interface with XLR/TRS, 1/4", USB, and RCA – Black, 1-Channel by Hideo Ebara ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

An ideal product for any type of consumer.

This is my first external sound card. Bought for use in tandem with a condenser microphone, recording an electric guitar and outputting sound from a laptop to headphones and an audio center via AUX. I had to dance with a tambourine notably: the card started up normally only after I completely demolished all the audio drivers that were previously in the system, rolled up the ASIO driver for this card, and only after that I installed all the Realtek stray things. But it was worth it - everything works like a Swiss watch. The volume controls are comfortable, smooth, the phantom power works fine and I don’t hear any extra noise on my pieces of iron. Problems with drivers, as far as I understood from the reviews, do not appear for everyone. I showed up, but I managed to solve them, which I'm glad about. I'll add after half a year: Most problems with noise, off-scale and sound distortion can be solved by connecting the card and specifically through the USB2.0 port. Not 3.0 or something else, namely the second version. Passive noise at 100% mic input gain (no mic connected) is about -75 dB.

Pros
  • Easy compact Inexpensive
Cons
  • Lack of normal drivers, and hence dancing with a tambourine for a normal connection

Some pros: A good sound card for home recording and Internet browsing. Its cons: For such money there are no shortcomings.

It is better not to be stingy and spend money on something more worthwhile, neel Behringer.
